Happy Commonwealth Day! This day marks the beginning of Legacy Week, the first since the Games last summer; an opportunity for all involved to reflect on what has been achieved and what is still to come!
At Scottish Sports Futures, we have fully embraced this opportunity to celebrate, with a week of activity that will highlight the legacy of the Commonwealth Games, shining a spotlight on our Legacy programmes that are improving lives across Scotland and in Glasgow.
“We planned early, we have programmes in place, and people are benefiting now”
This key message of Legacy Week particularly resonates with the legacy programmes we have developed at SSF, which have been in place prior to the games and continue to make an impact.
To kick things off Minister for Sport, Health Improvement and Mental Health, Jamie Hepburn MSP will be visiting Scottish Sports Futures Legacy Programme Active East today to hear about the award winning programme and meet some of the inspirational young volunteers who have benefitted from the games being in their local community.
Today we will also launch Scottish Sports Futures Top Moments of Glasgow2014 shared by SSF staff, board members, partners and young people engaged in our programmes. These will be revealed throughout the week here on our website and on our twitter and facebook.
There will be lots of interesting blogs and memories shared as well as activities taking place at SSF during Legacy Week so don’t miss a moment, go follow us at @SSF_2000
